Netflix UX/UI Design Pre-Start Guide
Welcome to the Netflix UX/UI Design Boot Camp!
This guide supplies an overview of the required software downloads and information that you’ll need on the first day of class. It also has a high-level breakdown of the concepts that the boot camp will cover over the next 16 weeks.
As you'll discover, this boot camp is fast-paced and challenging. To make sure that you have everything you'll need on Day 1, please review the entire list of materials and download all the necessary software.

What to Expect in This Boot Camp
This boot camp differs a bit from the learning experiences you might be used to.
Once the class begins, you and your peers will begin a rigorous journey. Your instructor will quickly lead the class from one concept to another. The next 16 weeks might prove challenging, frustrating, and even bewildering at times, but you'll learn a lot and you’ll learn it fast.
While plenty exists that you can do to succeed in this class, making the most of it comes down a simple bit of advice:
- Prepare, work hard, and learn from others.
You won’t be alone. You’ll have support every step of the way from your instructor, teaching assistants (TAs), SSM, and classmates. The first step to ensure that your boot camp experience stays as successful as possible involves two parts: first complete this guide, and then come to class prepared and with the proper mindset and expectations.

Module 1: Course Overview
Module 1 supplies an overview of the units that you'll go through over the next 16 weeks. You'll note that the boot camp covers a lot, so get ready for a rigorous challenge.
Module 2: Install Your Tools
Module 2 is designed to ensure that you have all the right hardware and software—so that you can begin working on the first day of class.
Module 3: Keys to Success
Module 3 offers readings and links to tutorials that will help you learn the fundamentals of design and UX/UI. Following the tips in this module will also help you set the right attitude and expectations.
